The Queer Republic recently celebrated their 2nd anniversary with two events in Rustenburg and in Nairobi. In true fashion for internationality the TQR team put together the two events at the same time. While plans to livestream both events to members in both countries didn't work out, people had a lot of fun at both celebrations.
The goal of the Queer Republic is to one day have this type of a celebration continent wide every year to remind her communities that queer existence at the heart of it is really about queer happiness.
In both cities members had an opportunity to engage with the proposed programs of the Queer Republic as an organisation and in what ways this would move the plan of building continent wide solidarity.
However the main point was celebration and queer joy and the beautiful images in the Gallery capture this both in Rustenburg and in Nairobi.
